The school of the abbey of Zevenkerken is one of the last boarding
schools in Belgium. Frank Theys was asked by Bruges, Cultural Capital
of Europe 2002, to make a social-cultural project with the student
of the 5th grade of the school. He gave them a DV-camera for a couple
of months to let them film their own life in the school. The film
shows the daily atmosphere of the life in the boarding school. The
atmosphere of Gombrovich or Musil’s novel ‘The Experiences
of the young Törless’ is never far away. |
